What a fantastic day for our Annual Two Generation Tournament, with a record-breaking 55 pairs taking to all eight of our grass courts for a brilliant day of tennis, sunshine and family fun.
The Two Generation Tournament is always a special date in the Rye Lawn Tennis Club calendar, bringing different generations together on court – and this year’s event was our biggest yet.
One of the things that makes this tournament so unique is the incredible range of ages competing side by side.
This year, our youngest player was just seven years old, while our oldest competitor was well into her 80s.
Across the eight grass courts, we saw parents and children, grandparents and grandchildren, and families returning once again to enjoy the competition together.
A special mention goes to the Whitfield family, who made their annual trip to the club and enjoyed another successful tournament, finishing first and second in their group.
We were also delighted to see so many generations of the Billington and Menzies families turning out in force and continuing their own traditions at the tournament.
A huge thank you to all 55 pairs who took part, as well as everyone who came along to support and those who worked behind the scenes to keep the day running smoothly.
With eight grass courts full, fantastic weather and players spanning more than seven decades, it was a brilliant celebration of tennis, family and everything we love about our club.
We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
