The annual Ladies Tournament, sadly cancelled in 2020, was held on the grass at Rye on Thursday 22nd July. Organised by Fran Sharp, the return of the tournament was met with great enthusiasm by the members. Forty-four ladies in total entered the event, mainly Rye members but also couples from Amherst and Cooden Beach. This year, picnics were the order of the day and the ladies enjoyed these outside or “socially distanced” inside, as the thermometer reached 30 degrees. It was one of the hottest days of the year, the sun shone and everyone had a fun day. Prizes were presented to the winners of each of the four groups and a successful raffle was held. It was good to be ‘almost normal’ again.
