Showing that pink is not just for Barbie last weekend, the Sunday morning padel group held a fun tournament sponsored by Pinkster Gin (thank you to Giles Moffat).Sally and Claire enlisted the players and organised everyone into 2 groups, playing two hours in each session. The format was to play 5 games and then switch around, keeping individual scores, with coach Richard on hand to organise the pairings and to provide match play tips.
Pinkster provided prizes for each group, with a bottle of gin for the most points, plus peer voted awards for best costume, best comedy shot and most impressive shot. The early group had a 4 way tie for points, but Virginia scooped the prize for most wins. Sarah Walsh and her bunny ears won best costume, Susie for most impressive shot and Claire for providing plenty of comedy moments to keep everyone entertained.
Winners in the second group were Dave for the most points, Sally T for an impressive pink wig Kate for most impressive shot and comedy value added by Sophie. Cakes and pastries were laid on in the pavilion and the bar was open for drinks. Luckily the forecast rain did not appear and we had a glorious morning of sunshine and sport.
Thanks to Giles and Richard and everyone who played, it was a great success and we will certainly do something similar towards the end of the season.
