The Club’s fantastic grass courts were in full swing on the first grass court tournament of the year on Saturday 18th May. The sun came out and it felt like summer had finally arrived! Organised by head coach Tanya McCulley, there was a great turnout of 15 pairs, split between 3 groups. Each pair played 4 matches, with their scores recorded on a round-robin sheet. Competitive matches were played across all the groups and everyone seemed to be enjoying their first taste of the grass.
Despite the wettest winter in memory, our groundsman Adam Stunt had performed miracles and the courts played to their usual immaculate standard. Thank you Adam!
The winning pairs were Clare Crawshay-Williams and Simon Crispin, Simon Philipz and John Marshall, Sara Milner and Kate Van Der Pump.
Congratulations to the winners and well played to all those who took part. We look forward to welcoming everyone again to the upcoming grass court tournaments over the summer!
