The annual Rye Ladies Doubles tournament took place on Thursday 11th July. Organised by Ellie Cochrane, with help from Caroline Robinson, 24 pairs of ladies from Rye and other local clubs gathered to do battle on the grass. Thanks to Adam Stunt for superb preparation of the courts and to Glen and Dawn for an excellent lunch in the clubhouse afterwards.
Ellie reports: “Lucky with the weather should be Rye LTC’s middle name. Beautiful blue skies, emerald green courts and crisp whites were the order of the day.
After a day’s keen tennis our group winners were Mel Baynton-Perret and Vicky Lowe, Annalisa and Lavinia Webb and Donna Jones and Kay Fitzgerald.
A delicious lunch followed play to top off the day. Thanks go to Adam and Freddie for the fantastic courts, Denys, Dawn and Glen for the bar and lunch, and especially to Caroline Robinson whose help makes a huge difference.”
