Rye Lawn Tennis Club’s recent closed Padel tournament was an unforgettable day of thrilling competition, community spirit, and sunshine. With both the Men’s and Ladies’ divisions showcasing incredible talent, spectators were treated to intense, high-level matches.
Another Successful Day of Padel at Rye Lawn Tennis Club!
This past weekend, Rye Lawn Tennis Club hosted another thrilling closed Padel tournament, filled with sunshine and exciting matches! The tournament was split into two divisions—Men’s and Ladies’—featuring some top-notch play from all participants.
In the Ladies’ final, Claire Myatt and Sally Watson emerged victorious after a nail-biting 10-8 win over Suzie Morris and Virginia Millington. Both pairs put on a fantastic show, keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats until the very last point.
The Men’s final saw favorites Ewan Hopkins and Scott Brotherton take home the title with a decisive 6-1 victory against Vitor Mariano and Nick Griffiths. Their commanding performance capped off a day of intense competition.
A huge thank you to David Goddard for his excellent organization and to Tom Meyer for keeping everyone refreshed by running the bar throughout the day. It was a day full of camaraderie, great Padel, and a lot of fun!
