There was a good turnout for the junior FAST4 tournament held at the Club under a blazing sun on the morning of Tuesday 1st June. Organised by coach Suzy Larkin, the competition was run along the four FAST4 rules: the first to 4 games wins, tiebreak at 3 games all, sudden death deuce and ball in play on a let serve.
The tournament was played in a competitive spirit and with lots of energy despite the hot weather. The winner of the 13-16 age group was Ollie Bearcroft, who managed to snatch victory from his friend Isak Syltevik Dobson in a close final. The consolation winner was Ed Patrick and the runner-up Oliver Chicken.
In the younger group, ages 7-10, John Tuil took the title after a battle with Alex Felton, with Willoughby Taylor winning the consolation against Jacob Voight.
Great match play experience was gained by the juniors and a good time was had by all.
