There was a fantastic morning of tennis at the Club on Sunday 1st February, both on
the court and on the big screen. Andrew and Mark had done great work rounding up
players for the Aussie Open themed event and Mark brilliantly organised more than
40 on court across 3 sessions. Players ranged in age from teens to eighty-year-olds,
so it was very much a tournament for the entire Club. While Djokovic and Alcaraz
were battling it out in Melbourne, our own winners were Tina, Chris C and Korban.
Carlos took home over £2 million but our winners had to settle for bragging rights
and inflatable kangaroos. The clubhouse was buzzing, with food prepared by
Andrew (aka Skippy) on the barbie while Ali and team were keeping everyone happy
with tea and coffee. Many thanks to Andrew and Mark for running the show and to
everyone who came along to play or just to enjoy the Club on a slightly damp but
very sociable Sunday morning.
