One Top Tip for Your Tennis Serve!

Perfecting your serve can feel like a challenge, but our head coach, Mark Edwards from HotshotZ, has one golden rule that works for everyone — from “nursery to national”. And the best part? It’s not even about your racket.

The major issue most players face with their serve isn’t power or technique — it’s their ball toss. A consistent toss is key to a strong, reliable serve, and Mark has one simple tip to make sure you get it right every time:

“If my thumb is pointing up, it’s a good ball toss. If my thumb is pointing down, it’s going to be a bad ball toss.”

This simple adjustment will give you a clean, repeatable toss, setting you up for success on every serve. No matter your level, this trick is easy to learn and will make a noticeable difference in your game.

Don’t just take our word for it — check out this video to see Mark’s tip in action and try it out yourself!
