We are delighted if guests would like to enjoy using our excellent facilities for tennis, padel and squash. Below you'll find important information about our guest policy, fees and guidelines for footwear and clothing. Guest Play Policy

Guests are welcome to play at the Club up to four times a year in total, whether playing with or without a member.  This includes participation in any coaching sessions.

We offer non-members one free group coaching session – which gives them a great opportunity to try out the club.  Contact our head coach Mark Edwards for further information mark@hotshotztennis.co.uk.

Alternatively, you can book a tennis or padel court by sending an email to the Club info@ryelawntennisclub.org.uk.

If you would like to play squash, you will need to play with a member, or be introduced by a member.  For further information please squash@ryelawntennisclub.org.uk.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES AND MEMBER FEES

If a member of the Club paying an annual membership fee for one category of sport (e.g. tennis) wants to play a different sport at the Club (e.g. padel) then they book the court the same way and pay the same fee as a non-member.

As with non-members, they can only play that sport at the Club up to four times each year.

Guest Fees

Guest fees must be paid before going on court.  You can pay your fees here.  Or you will find a QR code on the door/gate into the court where you are playing that takes you to the same payment page.

  • For Tennis or Padel (with a member): £10 per adult and £5 per child (90 mins)
  • For Tennis or Padel (without a member): £36.00 per court (90 mins)
  • Squash £5 per person, per session.

Clothing & Footwear

The Club has specific clothing and footwear policies to ensure we maintain the quality of our courts.

GRASS COURTS
  • Clothing: All clothing must be predominantly white.
  • Footwear: Only appropriate grass court tennis shoes are allowed. Wearing the wrong shoes can cause significant damage to the courts.

If you need to purchase appropriate clothing and footwear, contact Mark Wisden at Wisdens, a family-owned sports equipment shop in Hastings. They offer a 20% discount for Rye LTC members. Call 01424 421240 or visit their Amazon shop.

CLAY COURTS
  • Clothing: Any colour of sports clothing is acceptable.
  • Footwear: Only tennis shoes should be worn on these courts to prevent damage to the surface.
PADEL COURTS
  • Clothing: Any colour of sports clothing is acceptable.
  • Footwear: Padel shoes are recommended, but all-court or clay court tennis shoes are also acceptable.
SQUASH COURTS
  • Clothing: Any colour of sports clothing is acceptable.
  • Footwear: Indoor court trainers are mandatory to avoid marking the wooden floor. Black-soled shoes are not permitted.
