The club has a strict policy that all clothing should be predominantly white if you are playing on the grass courts.
Even more important is footwear. An hour on our courts wearing the wrong shoes can ruin the court for an entire season.
So it is very unfortunate if people come to play wearing the wrong shoes, as we simply cannot risk our courts being put out of action.
If you need to buy suitable footwear or clothing, do get in touch with one of our partners, Mark Wisden from Wisdens, a family-owned sports equipment and clothing shop in Hastings (01424 421240), who is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Anyone connected to Rye LTC who visits the shop qualifies for a 20% discount (not in conjunction with any other offer). Just mention the Club when you are in the shop or visit their shop on Amazon.
On our clay courts we allow any colour of clothing, but we request that the clothing is designed for sport.
As with the grass, only tennis shoes should be worn on these courts to avoid damage to the surface.
On both padel courts we allow any colour of clothing, but we request that the clothing is designed for sport.
Padel shoes are advised for padel, but tennis shoes (all court or clay court) can be worn.
