This year saw another full house at the annual Two Generation tournament, organised by Christopher Stephenson, on our lovely grass courts. We had 44 couples battle it out for the prestigious medals, with ages ranging from 7 to over 80 (you know who you are!).
We had grannies, grandpas, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends teaming up with youngsters of all ages for a real feast of tennis. The highlight was seeing Phil Harper rushing down to the Club at short notice to stand in for a crocked Dad, only to add another pot to his huge collection after winning the U13 court!
Our esteemed Chairman teamed up with his granddaughter Lottie and demanded that this was, in fact, a three-generation pair. Not to be outdone, Rachel Hay and her grandson Angus won the ‘biggest height differential’ award, as he towered over all of us.
Congratulations to all our winners:
Group A (U10): Arabella and Rupert Turner
Group B (U12): Matthew and Alec Stradling
Group C (U13): Phil Harper and Willoughby Taylor
Group D (U16): Georgia and Mischa Wixley
Group E (U23): Tim and JJ Pryke
Group F (U30): Dawn and Alexander Johnson
Looking forward to seeing you all next year!
