The summer season arrived at Rye LTC on Saturday 14 May when four superb grass courts were used for a tournament to mark the opening of the grass. The perfect weather saw a good turnout of members, with four of the eight grass courts in play during the afternoon.
Organised by coach Frances Candy, the format was a round robin, allowing everyone plenty of time on court and there were some long and hard-fought matches.
The weather and grass courts combined to make an excellent start to the summer season in Rye’s centenary year.
