MEXICANO PADEL TOURNAMENT

The third fund-raising Rye Padel Club Mexicano Tournament for 2024, organised by Alison and Bob Thomson ably assisted by Alex Stone, was held on Sunday 21st July.  A big thank you to the 32 entrants who supported this event.  Some spectacular padel was played in a fun and competitive environment with those taking part playing with and against a variety of other players in 15-minute sessions.  The winner of the first group was Angela Ransley and the runner-up was Sandra Goodsell.  The winner of the second group was Ed Patrick and the runner-up was Tom Meyer.  Thanks to Charles McDonald of Tadpole Vineyard for generously donating two bottles of his Bacchus 2023 wine to the winners, Claire Myatt for the gazebo, Sally Watson for initiating these events, Sandra Goodsell for baking a delicious cake for everyone and Bob for his impressive whistle blowing.
