On Sunday 13th October, Rye Lawn Tennis Club welcomed the sunshine and 48 enthusiastic padel players for our 4th Mexicano Tournament.
From 8:30 AM onwards, the courts buzzed with energy as competitors took to the game in three different groups, showcasing their skills and determination.
In Group 1, Tom, fresh off his quiz night loss, redeemed himself by sharing the top spot with Paul V. Group 2 saw Kwan take the lead, displaying some fantastic padel prowess. Meanwhile, Group 3 ended with Yvette and Kate VP tying for first place after some thrilling matches.
The tournament wouldn’t have been such a success without the tremendous effort of our organisers and volunteers. Jo did a fantastic job rallying the players and keeping the day running smoothly. Special thanks to Jane, Sally, and Claire for ensuring every match transitioned seamlessly with their expert bell-ringing skills. A big shoutout as well to Fran and Susie for providing refreshments and keeping everyone energised, and to Toby and Paul H. for their efforts in coordinating the matches.
It was a day filled with camaraderie, sportsmanship, and fun. We’re grateful to everyone who joined us and contributed to the fantastic atmosphere that made the event such an enjoyable day for all. Looking forward to the next one!
