The second annual FAST4 tournament was held on the Club’s grass courts on the Saturday and Sunday of the warm and sunny May Bank Holiday weekend. With just four rules, FAST4 is a new and exciting way to speed up a conventional tennis match: the first to 4 games wins, tiebreak at 3 games all, sudden death deuce and ball in play on a let serve.
Organised by coach Richard Pratt, the draw of twelve included experienced players from Dulwich as well as some Rye youngsters. Congratulations to Sarah Walsh for winning the compass draw. The main draw final was between David Wallis and Sarah’s husband, Phil Harper, with Phil taking the victory after a very competitive battle.
Special thanks to Adam Stunt and Freddie Menzies, who did an amazing job preparing the courts for the tournament after May’s heavy rainfall.
