Organised by Bob Thomson, this year’s tournament saw 26 entrants, along with many families and friends who came to support and enjoy some superb tennis in the sunshine.
A huge thanks goes to Adam Stunt and Freddie Menzies for preparing the 8 grass courts that were a pleasure to play on, with the grounds looking magnificent with beautiful floral displays.
Simon Crispin retained his men’s singles title, winning a close, high-quality match against Dan Furnival.
The ladies’ singles was played as a round robin, with Esme Brady-Rogerson emerging as a worthy winner and Mel Baynton-Perret finishing runner-up. The ladies’ doubles was also a round robin format, with Mel Baynton-Perret and Sarah Walsh proving victorious.
The men’s doubles winners were Phil Harper and Scott Brotherton, who triumphed over Simon Crispin and Bob Thomson.
Many thanks to Tom Meyer and Alison Thomson for providing a delicious BBQ and salad lunch.
Thank you to everyone who took part and supported the tournament – we look forward to seeing you again next year.
